Johanna M. Ruscitti, formerly of New Hampton, N.Y., dies at age 92

Johanna M. Ruscitti, of Roswell, Ga., formerly of New Hampton, N.Y., passed away on July 7, 2018. She was 92.

She was born in 1925 in the Netherlands to the late Reyer and Cornelia Schoorl.

She attended Monroe High School; soon after she met her husband, Michael A. Ruscitti of New Windsor, N.Y. Johanna and Michael married in 1944, a marriage of 48 years that ended in Michael’s passing in 1992.

Johanna loved being a homemaker so she could remain close to her loved ones. She had a huge heart and was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending quality time with family, dancing, painting, playing the organ, spoiling her pets, cooking, baking, and loved being fashionable.

Survivors include her son, Michael C. Ruscitti; granddaughter, Rebecca L. Ruscitti of Roswell, Ga.; sister/brother-in-law; Cornelia and Maurice Scandurra of Chester, N.Y.; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Johanna is preceded in death by her brother, John Schoorl.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 28, at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, 27 High St., Chester, N.Y. Interment will follow at St. Columba Cemetery, Route 94, Chester.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation in Johanna’s name to the Children’s Health Care System.
