Chester to hold Independence Day Celebration

CHESTER — Chester's Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 14, includes live music, food vendors and bounce houses.

The fun begins at 5 p.m. on Carpenter Field, 19 Vadala Road, Chester, and extends to 9:45 p.m.

The fireworks begin 9 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, July 15.

Evan Teatum & friends and The Black Dirt Bandits will start their performances at 5 p.m.

There will be several food vendors, including Clayton Delaney’s, 3 Mamas & Mike, Thank Goodness It’s Vegan & Ice Mother.

Vadala Road will be closed off for foot traffic and viewing. Additional viewing spots are on the grass between Route 94 and the softball field adjacent to the Chester Fire Department (Walton Engine & Hose Co.), as well as the parking lot of Chester Learning Center (the old high school at Maple Avenue).

No viewing will be allowed from the ball fields.
