John J. Donnelly III of Goshen, N.Y., dies at age 77

John J. Donnelly III of Goshen, N.Y., entered into rest on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Valley View Center, Goshen, N.Y., following a prolonged illness. He was 77.
Son of the late John J. Donnelly II and Susan (McArthur) Donnelly, he was born May 14, 1941, in Lesmahagow, Scotland.
He was the beloved husband of his wife, Anne, and loving father to his daughter, Jane.
John worked for Rolls Royce Aero Engines in both Scotland and in the United States for his entire career, spanning 46 years. He began his career as a Mechanical Engineer and retired from International Aero Engines, East Hartford, Conn., in 2001. He received his Pilot Officer’s Commission from Queen Elizabeth II in 1965. He was a member of the volunteer Royal Air Force (RAF).
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Anne (Murphy) Donnelly at home; daughter, Jane Bastian and husband Adam of Chester; two adored grandchildren, Alexander and Jemma Bastian; sister, Monica McInneny and husband Johnny of Scotland; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Fraser.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on June 14 at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, 27 High St., Chester, NY.
Interment was private and at the convenience of the family.
