Where's the new trotters?

To the Editor:

When I received my copy of The Chronicle, I couldn't wait to see the complete photo of a post that popped up in my facebook feed announcing this year's painted horses. After being disappointed with the horse silhouettes used last year — galloping horses — I looked forward to the silhouettes this year actually depicting Trotting horses.

I open the paper to the page and really? A galloping horse? Again? With all of the trotting horse silhouettes in the village on everything from buildings to letterheads, I thought that designing and obtaining an accurate depiction of a horse trotting would be easy — and there was a whole year to accomplish the feat!

While I appreciate the artwork and the community spirit very much, I am disappointed that with all of the hooplah about the horse cutouts representing the "Cradle of the Trotter" and Goshen's horse racing history, accuracy isn't a priority.
