Marian Jean Dolney of Goshen, N.Y., died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at home. She was 86.

Daughter of the late Andrew and the late Mary (Kanyuk) Kuriplach, she was born March 6, 1931, in Brooklyn.

She married Lt. Robert R. Dolney, of the NYC Fire Department on July 12, 1952, and was predeceased by her husband on March 5, 1980.

Jean was an accomplished seamstress for over 20 years and tailored all of her daughters' school clothes as well as prize-winning Halloween costumes. After her husband's passing she volunteered many years at Brentwood Ambulance on Long Island in addition to the V.F.W. bingo hall. From her first home to her last she took pride in tending to her beautiful flower gardens. Jean will always be remembered for her generosity as she donated faithfully to several organizations.

Visitation was held Feb. 18 at the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen, followed by a funeral service. Burial was in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y., on Feb. 19.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Steven Siller Tunnel2Towers.org (for form or call 718-987-1931) or NYC Fire Dept. Burn Center, 21 Asch Loop, Bronx, NY 10475 (718-379-1900).
