— It’s been a long, cold winter, and a steaming bowl of hot chili might be just the thing to warm body and soul.

The Mission Committee at the First Presbyterian Church of Goshen is providing warmth by hosting a chili dinner that offers comfort, nourishment, and more.

All proceeds from this fundraiser go to PresbyBuild in Partnership with Habitat for Humanity in Newburgh, offering warmth and comfort by providing housing to those in need. In the past, the Mission Committee each year hosted a chili contest to determine who makes the best chili; however, this year it’s a chili fundraiser with a twist.

This year there’s no contest. In fact, the committee is pleased to announce that chili, enchiladas, and chips are being donated by generous chefs from local restaurants, including Delancey’s, Steve’s Deli, Elsie’s, Limoncello’s, and LaCasita. Both Delancey’s and Steve’s Deli have won “best chili” awards in the past.

How exciting is this offer? A full, satisfying dinner in mid-winter that includes chili, enchiladas, chips and salsa, and all the fixings—rice, cheese, sour cream, onions — dessert and soda or water.

Here are the details:

When: 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018

Where: First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 33 Park Place, Goshen

How much: $10 (drink and homemade dessert included); children between 4 and 11, $5. Meat and vegetarian chili available. Tickets will be sold at the door.

So, save the date. Mark your calendars. Don’t be left out in the cold for this nourishing fiesta dinner, at a reasonable price, and a chance to help our neighbors in Newburgh keep warm.
