Linda L. Telgheder of Slate Hill, N.Y., died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at home. She was 79.

Daughter of the late Henry Davis and the late Mary (Smith) Davis, she was born April 18, 1938, in St. Albans, Queens, N.Y.

While also a homemaker, she spent the passing years working at the family business, Slate Hill Orchards, getting to know the local residents and enjoying many happy and active years living on the farm.

She will be fondly remembered for her energetic personality, her quirky sense of humor and her love of animals.

From making lovely desserts, to refinishing antique furniture, to becoming an accomplished seamstress, her creative spirit touched everything around her. She was an avid gardener and had a keen eye for interior decorating. She loved watching classic movies while leafing through her beloved decorating books. Linda had a sharp wit and loved crossword puzzles and playing board and card games with her family.

She was happiest spending time with her family and working in her garden, surrounded by flowers, in the summer sun.

She is survived by her husband, Jerre Telgheder, at home; children, Brad Telgheder, Stephen Telgheder and wife, Lauren, Craig Telgheder and wife, Shari, and Karen Fogarty and husband, Joseph; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, Zoe, Sophie, Kiel, Corrine, Skylar, Katie, and Ian.

She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara; and brother, Roger.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen, N.Y.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, at the funeral home with the Rev. David Kingsley officiating.

Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown, N.Y.
