More than 350 nonprofit organizations serving people throughout New York are urging state officials to increase funding for building repairs, technology upgrades and other critical improvements.

The groups held an infrastructure fair at the state Capitol Monday to highlight the need facing organizations that run community centers, health clinics and other non-profit facilities.

Since 2015 the state has awarded $120 million in grants to 237 nonprofits for renovations, building upgrades, new technology or additions like accessibility ramps. The state's nonprofit community is asking for an annual funding amount of $100 million.

Nancy Miller, head of a nonprofit that provides services for the blind, says state funding was essential when her organization built a new vocational center for young people in Rockland County.
